Class Update - October 11th

¡Hola familias!

This week, we are learning the importance of being present in the moment. We will practicing 4 different mindfulness exercises to help us refocus and being present in class. Ask your child about the belly breathing exercise!

The Week Ahead

  • ELAL – We read chapter 9 to 12, and will read up to chapter 16 this week. We will look at conflict and characters as part of our novel study.
  • Math – We are working on estimation of sums and differences. A new math challenge will be posted next week.
  • Social Studies – We continue examining critically the physical features of Canada. Students are researching about the landforms of a region and will produce a Travel Brochure to attract tourists to the assigned region. The findings of their research will be shared through a jigsaw activity on Thursday.
  • Science – We are learning about the elements that affect temperature (latitude, altitude, time of the day, seasons, proximity to a body of water, ocean currents). We will start looking at wind towards the end of the week.
  • Spanish – We are reviewing adjectives to describe your favourite animal. Students are building their oral and writing skills by learning how to use definite articles and adjectives.
