Class Update - January 13

¡CONGRATULATIONS to all the students who participated in the Open House on Thursday, January 12! You did a fantastic job and demonstrated extraordinary pride and leadership skills. 

Are you ready for grade 6? Senator Patrick Burns will be hosting an Open House on February 2 at 6pm.  Please see the attached flyer for more information.

THIS WEEK IN REVIEW

• 🔢 Math: We have started our geometry unit about transformations, looking at the translation of shapes. Next week, we will working on rotations.
• 💃 Spanish: Today we look at common adverbs of place and we will continue working on this topic for the next two weeks. 
• 📚 English: We continue with the poetry unit. This week we learned about poetic structures and actually writing poetry! Students wrote their first couplet poem.
• 🔬 Science: We continued we the unit about chemistry. Students are learning about the Scientific Method, so we can start doing experiments next week!
• 🔎 Social Studies: We will become anthropologists the critically examine the ways of life of Indigenous Peoples in Canada. 
• 🏀 Physical Education and Wellness: We played handball and next week we will be playing Kin Ball.
